For me, a large part of my summer was spent “hustling” as salesfolk call it - looking for, and contacting potential new venues for us to run comedy nights.

This process rarely happens quickly. You contact around 100 venues, of those maybe 10 at most will respond to you.

Of those 10, 2 or 3 will show some interest.

But that interest usually takes months to develop into an actual comedy night. There’s colleagues that need consulting with, costs that need “fleshing out” (always felt a bit uncomfortable with that phrase) and a myriad of other things that get in the way.

But finally, after a couple of months of “hustling” we’re now starting to see the fruits of our labours. 3 gigs this week! Rustic Kitchen Bewdley (our new one), Chester Tavern Kidderminster and good old Stoubridge town hall.

We’ve also launched our night at Copthorne Merry Hill last month, have a new night at Sutton Arts theatre this month and Drummonds in Worcester starting in November.

And there’s plenty more on the way! Including a comedy quiz night!

Best get on with “hustling” - there’s laughter to create 😀
